Plagiarism Policy
Jurnal Riset Informatika dan Komputer (JURIKO) is committed to maintaining academic integrity and upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. Therefore, all manuscripts submitted to JURIKO are screened to ensure originality and to prevent all forms of plagiarism and academic misconduct.
Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the act of using ideas, data, text, images, tables, research findings, or any other intellectual work created by others without proper acknowledgment, citation, or permission, thereby creating the impression that the work is original to the submitting author.
Forms of plagiarism include, but are not limited to:
- Copying part or all of another person's work without proper citation.
- Using data, figures, or research findings without permission or attribution.
- Improper paraphrasing without citing the original source.
- Presenting another person's work or ideas as one's own.
- Duplicate or redundant publication.
- Submitting the same manuscript simultaneously to multiple journals.
- Self-plagiarism, including the reuse of previously published material without adequate disclosure or citation.
Plagiarism Screening
All submitted manuscripts undergo a similarity assessment using academically recognized plagiarism detection software before entering the peer review process.
The screening process is conducted to identify:
- Excessive textual similarity.
- Duplicate or redundant publication.
- Use of sources without proper attribution.
- Potential violations of publication ethics.
Similarity Threshold
- The maximum acceptable Similarity Index is 25%.
- Similarities originating from reference lists, properly quoted material, institutional names, standard methodologies, or journal templates may be excluded from the evaluation.
- Editors retain the authority to conduct a substantive assessment of similarity reports and are not limited to evaluating manuscripts solely based on the overall percentage score.
Editorial Actions
Before Peer Review
- Return the manuscript to the author for correction.
- Request clarification from the author.
- Reject the manuscript if significant plagiarism is identified.
During Peer Review
- Suspend or terminate the review process.
- Request revisions and proper citation corrections.
- Reject the manuscript if publication ethics violations are confirmed.
After Publication
If plagiarism is discovered after publication, Jurnal Riset Informatika dan Komputer (JURIKO) may take one or more of the following actions:
- Publish a correction notice.
- Issue an editorial notice.
- Retract the published article.
- Notify the author's institution when appropriate.
Author Responsibilities
Authors are required to:
- Ensure that the submitted manuscript is an original work.
- Properly acknowledge and cite all sources used.
- Apply citations and references in accordance with the journal guidelines.
- Obtain permission for the use of copyrighted materials when necessary.
- Disclose any reuse of previously published content.
Reviewer and Editor Responsibilities
Reviewers and editors are expected to assist in identifying potential plagiarism, duplicate publication, data misuse, or other ethical concerns encountered during the editorial and peer review process.
Any allegation of misconduct will be handled objectively, confidentially, and in accordance with internationally recognized publication ethics principles.
Publication Ethics Compliance
JURIKO does not tolerate any form of plagiarism, academic dishonesty, data fabrication, data falsification, duplicate publication, or other violations of research integrity. All parties involved in the publication process are expected to adhere to international standards of publication ethics to maintain the quality, reliability, and credibility of scholarly publications.
By submitting a manuscript to Jurnal Riset Informatika dan Komputer (JURIKO), authors declare that the submitted work is original, has not been plagiarized, and complies with all applicable ethical and professional standards of academic publishing.
