Publication Ethics

Jurnal Riset Informatika dan Komputer (JURIKO) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics throughout the editorial and publishing process. These ethical principles serve as guidelines for editors, reviewers, and authors to ensure the integrity, quality, transparency, and credibility of published scholarly works.

JURIKO follows the ethical principles and best practices recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Ethical Guidelines for Editors

Editors are responsible for making publication decisions based solely on the scientific merit, originality, and relevance of submitted manuscripts, regardless of the authors' race, gender, nationality, religious beliefs, institutional affiliation, or political views.

Editors must:

Evaluate manuscripts objectively, fairly, and impartially.
Maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and related information.
Not use unpublished materials or information for personal advantage.
Avoid and disclose any conflicts of interest.
Ensure that the peer review process is conducted independently and professionally.
Take appropriate action in response to suspected publication misconduct or ethical violations.

Ethical Guidelines for Reviewers

Reviewers play an essential role in assisting editors with editorial decisions and improving the quality of manuscripts through constructive and professional feedback.

Reviewers must:

Maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts under review.
Provide objective, professional, and evidence-based evaluations.
Offer clear, constructive, and relevant comments to authors and editors.
Identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.
Report suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, or other ethical concerns.
Decline the review assignment if a conflict of interest exists.

Ethical Guidelines for Authors

Authors are responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the manuscripts they submit to JURIKO.

Originality and Plagiarism

Ensure that the submitted manuscript is an original work.
Avoid plagiarism in all forms.
Properly acknowledge and cite all sources used in the research.
Ensure that the manuscript's similarity index complies with the journal's requirements.

Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication

Do not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously.
Do not publish substantially similar research in multiple journals without valid justification and appropriate disclosure.

Data Access and Retention

Retain research data supporting the findings presented in the manuscript.
Provide access to research data when required for scientific verification or editorial review.

Authorship of the Paper

All listed authors must:

Have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the research.
Participate in drafting or critically revising the manuscript.
Approve the final version of the manuscript prior to publication.
Accept responsibility for the integrity of the work.

Individuals who have not made a significant scholarly contribution to the research should not be listed as authors. Contributions that do not meet authorship criteria may be acknowledged in the acknowledgments section where appropriate.

Jurnal Riset Informatika dan Komputer (JURIKO) is dedicated to preventing all forms of publication misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, citation manipulation, duplicate publication, and unethical authorship practices. Any allegation of ethical misconduct will be investigated in accordance with COPE guidelines and may result in manuscript rejection, publication correction, retraction, or other appropriate editorial actions.
